En vaig parlar fa quatre anys, però no l'havia provat en no trobar cap botiga que el comercialitzés. És una mena de gelatina (potser la definició més exacte és la d'una mena de moc) que serveix per a fer una neteja del teclat de l'ordinador, emportant-se tota la porqueria que hi ha entre les tecles.

Fa uns dies vaig veure que Amazon el venia per un preu raonable (5,19 €) i aprofitant una comanda, en vaig demanar un. Avui l'he provat i és sensacional: l'he passat pel teclat del portàtil i ha tret un munt de pèls dels gats… i l'ha deixat com si fos nou.

Cyber Clean en acció damunt un teclat

Un projecte de la Universitat de Bristol que permet la visualització de contingut personalitzat diferent per a cada persona que mira una única pantalla:

Tot i que superficial, crec que es un bon reportatge que dóna una bona visió del que representa el núvol.

Per cert, acabo de consultar-ho al Termcat i veig que suggereixen l'ús d'«informàtica en núvol» i no pas «informàtica al núvol», com venia dient fins ara.

Es tracta d'un analitzador del tràfic de xarxa, pensat com a evolució del Network Monitor. Les novetats, segons Microsoft:

• Integrated "live" event and message capture at various system levels and endpoints

• Parsing and validation of protocol messages and sequences
• Automatic parsing of event messages described by ETW manifests
• Summarized grid display – top level is “operations”, (requests matched with responses)
• User controlled "on the fly" grouping by message attributes
• Ability to browse for logs of different types (.cap, .etl, .txt) and import them together
• Automatic re-assembly and ability to render payloads
• Ability to import text logs, parsing them into key element/value pairs
• Support for “Trace Scenarios” (one or more message providers, filters, and views)

Microsoft Message Analyzer

Una eina que serà gairebé imprescindible durant els primers dies en que s'utilitzi Windows 8 (especialment quan la pantalla no sigui tàctil): Start8 fa aparèixer el menú «Inicia» a l'escriptori:

Malgrat ser un «secret», en realitat ja en coneixíem alguns aspectes dels datacenters utilitzats per Google (veure «Google per dins: 200.000 servidors», «Com són els datacenters de Google»  i «Els centres de dades de Google»), però fins ara no els havíem vist amb tant luxe de detall.

però ara Google ens ofereix la possibilitat de fer-ne una visita amb StreetView i veure'n l'interior:
