Al taxi!
Això diu l'informe realitzat per Pointsec (New Survey Reveals Thousands of Mobile Devices Left Behind in Major US City Taxi Cabs):
- Només en sis mesos, els passatgers dels taxis de Washington-Baltimore s'han oblidat de 6.102 telèfons mòbils mentre que a San Francisco (Oakland) van perdre 2.754 telèfons.
- Molts d'aquests telèfons no són mai reclamats.
- La PDA és el segon dispositiu habitualment oblidat: els darrers sis mesos, 2.260 a Washington-Baltimore i 306 a San Francisco.
- Per les PDA els usuaris si que acostumen interès en la seva recuperació: 93% dels usuaris de Washington-Baltimore i 78% a San Francisco.
- Pel que fa als portàtils, en aquests darrers sis mesos s'han oblidat 339 a Washington-Baltimore per només 8 a San Francisco.
- El 100% dels portàtils han pogut ser recuperats pels seus propietaris.

[Howto Forge] LDAP Authentication in Linux. Una guia howto que mostra com emmagatzemar els usuaris d'un sistema Linux dins d'un directori LDAP.
This howto will show you howto store your users in LDAP and authenticate some of the services against it. I will not show howto install particular packages, as it is distribution/system dependant. I will focus on "pure" configuration of all componenets needed to have LDAP authentication/storage of users. The howto assumes somehow, that you are migrating from a regular passwd/shadow authentication, but it is also suitable for people who do it from scratch.

The 23rd Chaos Communication Congress (23C3) is a four-day conference on technology, society and utopia. The Congress offers lectures and workshops on a multitude of topics including (but not limited to) information technology, IT-security, internet, cryptography and generally a critical-creative attitude towards technology and the discussion about the effects of technological advances on society.
The Chaos Communication Congress is the annual congress of the Chaos Computer Club e.V. (CCC). The Congress has established itself as the "European Hacker Party" bringing in people from all over Europe and even further away.
The congress not only addresses the techno geek but also those who are interested in appliances and aftermathes. A part of the lectures will be held in English, the rest in German. The language used for each lecture is clearly marked in the conference program.
