Un any i mig de seguretat informàtica recollit en un PDF [Network World] New INFOSEC workbook now online. Notes, referències i informació sobre seguretat informàtica recollides durant un any i mig (des de l'1 de gener del 2006 al 30 de maig del 2007): Regular readers of this column know that I give a graduate seminar to my MSIA students every year in June called “INFOSEC Year in Review” or “IYIR” for short. This year the 135 graduating students and about 50 more students who will graduate in December received a 453-page book with 1,240 abstracts (including introductory material such as the list of categories) dating from Jan. 1, 2006, through May 30, 2007, classified using 280 possible categories. The workbook is a selection I made from a total of 3,532 abstracts in that period.   El PDF complet (3 MB). Li he donat un cop d'ull per damunt i sembla força interessant com a referència.

La llista de núvies i altres coses que els cercadors coneixen de nosaltres Interessant lectura a ComputerWorld: Your first girlfriend -- and the other things search engines store about you. Microsoft Live Search enregistra el tipus de cerques realitzades i Google, a més a més, l'idioma i el navegador utilitzat... Google és la única que ha fet un anunci que, passats 18 mesos, esborrarà la informació que associa la cerca amb l'usauri (bàsicament, la IP). Some people say there's not much to worry about, since the server logs don't associate these search terms with personally identifiable information, such as your name or e-mail address. However, if you have an account with or have registered for any of the additional services on a search engine site -- e-mail, social networks, calendars, shopping lists -- it's feasible that that connection could be made, says Brad Templeton, chairman of the board at the Electronic Frontier Foundation, a group that protects liberties and privacy in cyberspace. In the case of Microsoft and Yahoo, that information can be extensive because of how much personal information these search engine firms ask for on their account registration forms, including your occupation, job title and marital status and the number of children in your household. (...) Last year, reporters at The New York Times didn't even need an IP address to track down the identity of an AOL user when AOL published anonymous search logs of 500,000 users over a three-month period. The identification was made possible simply based on the specificity of the search terms the user queried, such as real estate searches in the small town where she lived. Plaça Nova (1928 - 2007) La Plaça Nova de Barcelona, tot mirant l'entrada al carrer del Bisbe: (La fotografia de l'any 2007 és d'en Sebastià Giralt). Els canvis són molts i molt destacats. En primer lloc, destaca l'obertura de l'Avinguda de la Catedral realitzada després de la Guerra Civil tot eliminant els edificis ensorrats pels bombardejos feixistes. També l'eliminació de construccions afegides a les torres romanes i la reconstrucció del tram final de l'aqüeducte romà. També és sorprenent el tràfic de cotxes pel carrer del Bisbe, impensable avui en dia. A nivell artístic destaca, a la fotografia del 2007, el poema visual de Joan Brossa amb la paraula Barcino. Va ser instal·lada l'any 1994.
